Our Services
Comprehensive Eye Examinations
Comprehensive eye examinations assess your vision, visual needs, and overall eye health, including detailed evaluation of both the front and back of the eye
Refraction checks
Refraction checks are used to determine your exact optical prescription for glasses or contact lenses. This test measures how light bends as it passes through your eyes to find the lens power that gives you the clearest vision. At Axis Eyecare, we perform precise refraction checks as part of your eye exam to ensure you get the most accurate prescription customised for your needs whether it’s for reading, in the office or golfing.
Ocular health checks
Some of the things included in our Ocular health checks include
Eyelids and lashes eg droopy eye
Dry eye disease
Cataracts
Pterygium
Glaucoma
Macular degeneration
OCT scans
OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) scans are advanced, non-invasive eye scans that create detailed 3D images of the layers at the back of your eye, including the retina and optic nerve. This technology helps detect early signs of eye conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic eye disease—often before you notice any symptoms.
Visual field testing
Visual field testing checks how well you can see in all areas of your vision including your peripheral (side) vision. It helps detect blind spots or vision loss that may be caused by eye conditions like glaucoma, retinal disease, or neurological issues. At Axis Eyecare, we use a Zeiss Humphrey visual field machine to accurately assess your visual field and support early diagnosis and treatment planning.
Macula assessments
Macula assessments focus on examining the central part of the retina—the macula which is responsible for your sharp, detailed vision used for reading, driving, and recognising faces. These assessments help detect early signs of conditions like age-related macular degeneration (AMD), which can cause gradual vision loss if left untreated. At Axis Eyecare, we use high-resolution imaging and OCT scans to closely monitor the health of your macula and provide timely care if any changes are detected.
Glaucoma assessment
Glaucoma assessments are a series of tests used to detect signs of glaucoma - a group of eye conditions that can damage the optic nerve and lead to permanent vision loss if untreated. Because glaucoma often has no early symptoms, regular testing is essential, especially as you get older. At Axis Eyecare, our glaucoma assessments include measuring eye pressure, examining the optic nerve, testing your visual field, and using OCT scans to assess changes over time. Early detection is key to preserving your vision, and we’re here to help every step of the way.
Children’s vision testing
Some of the tests included in our children's vision testing includes
Cycloplegic refraction
Binocular vision assessment
Therapeutic management of eye conditions
Such as
Red eyes
Eye infections
Inflammation
Allergy
Dry eyes
Foreign bodies
Glaucoma

This usually takes around 30 minutes, or longer if there are several ocular health conditions present or multiple prescriptions required. Follow-up consultations if required may still take 30 minutes.
